Why Choose US
About Us:
NWR Alternative Fuels has been in the business of making biodiesel since 2004. It started like most small businesses, out of the imagination of one person. Martin Gero ran a successful home remodeling company for several years but as his transportation costs continued to escalate, he sought to find a better way to transport tools and materials. In discussion with friends and family, he heard about the possibility of running his truck on using recycled vegetable oil. It seemed too good to be true.
He started collecting oil from a local restaurant and experimenting according to information he found on the internet. He put together his first processor mostly with parts scrounged from other people’s garbage. When the first batch was ready (as far as he knew) he stood in front of his truck, the most expensive piece of equipment he owned, and looked at the gas cap. A few minutes went by, birds chirped, the sun shone. Finally, he looked at his brother Andy and said with a wry smile, “Well, here goes…”
A year later, he had started not only making biodiesel for himself, he was making it for a few intrepid friends too. He was making more than he was using and in his search for new customers, he contacted an old boss, Doug Bernstein. Doug was a former bar owner and real estate broker with a little time on his hands and being both thrifty and adventurous, was always interested in saving a little money. A recent purchase of diesel truck made him a viable candidate to test fuel.
The price of diesel went up and the business grew. More and more biodiesel was produced and less and less home remodeling got done. Martin expanded the business and at the request of a few customers, started making biodiesel processors so that other people could experience the same savings in fuel costs.
Eventually, Martin needed help with the business and customer service end of things and Doug still had a little time to spare. As it turned out, the processor business was blowing up. The phone rang constantly and there was no time for Martin to build units or make biodiesel. Doug stepped right in, picked up the phonel and the rest is history.
NWR Alternative Fuels now offers four different types of processors for sale as well as many other parts and accessories. Feel free to contact us today for more information.
